Organised by Global Media Box in collaboration with Tamil Nadu Tourism, the event will feature kite-flying teams from France, Switzerland, Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, and India. Visitors can expect to witness a spectacular range of specially crafted kites, each worth between ₹1 lakh and ₹3 lakh, with some even pricier.
A major attraction this year will be a distinctive Tamil Alphabet-shaped kite, alongside Vietnam’s Traditional Flute Kite, which produces melodious tunes while soaring. “These kites are the result of extensive research and craftsmanship,” said Benedict Savio, Founder of the festival and Event Director at Global Media Box.
The festival will be open to the public from 3 PM to 9 PM each day, aiming to offer not just a visual treat but also a cultural experience. Organisers hope to expand the event into a World Kite Show Championship in the future, bringing together participants from over 40 nations.
